          The Numbers

As a MIT graduate, Dr. Emily Slutsky has been trained to approach challenges and problems through the lens of an engineer. "I believe the new age in healthcare is about developing sophisticated statistical and analytical tools to interpret vast libraries of data."

Dr. Slutsky has developed databases to store, organize, and interpret quantitative information. "Engineering solutions to complex dilemmas is my goal."

          The Training

The future of medicine belongs to boundary-straddlers: those who can think like scientists, treat like physicians, and communicate successfully with other healthcare professionals.

"Medicine is a multidisciplinary domain. As a medical graduate from Europe, I have been exposed to very different healthcare environments and models. I believe in applying broad models to specific demands and particular expectations." Dr. Emily Slutsky offers liaison services in the medical environment.

          The Strategy

The work of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow includes strategizing and planning to tackle institutional challenges through a structured, controlled approach.

"I have participated in focus groups to address real problems with the finesse and scalpel of a scientist and am enthusiastic about thinking creatively and abstractly." Dr. Emily Slutsky M.D M.S

          The Big Picture

At Weill Cornell's Center for Healthcare Information and Policy, Dr. Emily Slutsky was exposed to the issues in healthcare delivery and outreach plaguing the system.

Dr. Slutsky has been trained to address these inequities on an institutional, national, and international level.
